Port activities suspended

Weather conditions in Mauritius have deteriorated with heavy rainfall, reduced visibility and squally conditions with swells of 1.5-2.0m, all port activities are suspended till further notice.

According to the Mauritius Meteorological Services, the prevailing weather conditions with active clouds will continue to influence weather in Mauritius. More than 100mm of rainfall has been recorded in 4 stations. This situation will persist with more rainfall and therefore the torrential rain warning is being maintained.

The National Crisis Committee after consultation with the Prime Minister and in line with Section 16 (2) (a) of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Act, has decided that NO person, except those authorised and engaged in essential and emergency services, should venture outside until further notice.
