The GAC story started in 1956 when Swedish entrepreneur Bengt Lindwall signed an agreement with two Kuwaiti businessmen to form Gulf Agency Company to provide professional ship agency services in the country. Today, Kuwait’s Shipping License “No.1” is proudly displayed at GAC Kuwait’s office in Farwaniya.
Lindwall’s entrepreneurial spirit led directly to the establishment of GAC over sixty years ago. Over the next decade, more offices opened throughout the Middle East as oil, shipping and logistics business there grew.
Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, more GAC companies were established in the Eastern Mediterranean, Africa, Asia Pacific and the Indian Subcontinent. Further Europe, the Americas, Central Asia and Australia followed in the 1990s and 2000s. Today, GAC is now a truly global provider of integrated shipping, logistics and marine services.

It’s known as "The Beautiful Game" and at GAC, we understand its appeal – and its potential. In November 2019, GAC become Aberdeen Football Club’s first Official Logistics Partner. That reinforced our already strong ties with the home team at Scotland’s premier oil & gas hub. The GAC brand is visible in their home ground, thanks to our corporate box and pitch-side signage.
Many a business deal is sealed on the golf course, and GAC folk are not immune to the charms of the greens. We sponsor established stars like George Coetzee, Calum Hill, Nicole Broch Larsen and Shiv Kapur competing in The European Tour, The Ladies European Tour and the Asian Golf Tour.
