Marine soil investigation for jetty construction at Changi East

Marine soil investigation works are underway for a jetty construction at Changi East until 31 July.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.14 of 2024, the works is being conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays and public holidays - at 4 borehole locations with the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) in the vicinity of Changi East:
BH1 1°18.475'N 104°00.563'E
BH2 1°18.489'N 104°00.568'E
BH3 1°18.504'N 104°00.574'E
BH4 1°18.519'N 104°00.581'E

Soil investigation work is being carried out by means of sinking boreholes. Drilling will be carried out by the jack-up platform, held in position by 4 jack-up legs. The platform will have a circular safety working zone of 30 meters radius centered from the platform.

Two tugboats are being used to shift the platform from one bore hole to another.

A safety boat is in attendance at all times to warn and direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
1) Keep well clear and not to enter the work area,
2) Maintain a proper lookout,
3) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution,
4) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control),
5) Communicate with East control for assistance, if required.
