Towage and tug tariffs to rise

01 Mar 2023 / Australia

Towage and tug operator Svitzer Australia will increase its public tariff by an average of 7.7% from 1 April 2023, in line with the National CPI rate for December 2022.

High level changes to the tariff are as follows:

  • Definition of Standby Charges in Adelaide, Ardrossan, Port Giles, Brisbane, Eden, Geelong, Melbourne, Port Kembla, Westernport, Gore Cove, Port Botany, Port Jackson – aiming to clarify how active and passive standbys are differentiated.

  • Standby Charges in Port Bonython - due to revised terminal operations requirements by the terminal operator all tankers calling at Port Bonython will require a standby tug with FiFi1 capability for the duration of the terminal call.

  • SA Surcharges – amended to reflect our operational requirements in Port Bonython and Port Pirie.

  • Albany – revised tariff in line with licence requirements.
