Seafarers’ quarantine exemption

23 Mar 2021 / United Kingdom

Seafarers are now exempt from enforced quarantine or managed isolation when arriving in the United Kingdom from red/acute at risk list countries.

If a person is arriving from, or has been in/transited through a red/acute at risk list country in the 10 days prior to arrival to the UK, they must now arrive into one of the following approved "ports of entry’ only airports: London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London City, Birmingham, Farnborough, Glasgow, Edinburgh or Aberdeen.

There currently appears to be differing rules between the four home nations (England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland) in terms of pre-departure COVID testing requirements if coming from a red/acute at risk list country. It is strongly recommended to check with local travel agents and airlines for the latest COVID travel requirements before making crew bookings.
