Wave wall construction works at Sai Wan, Cheung Chau

For 20 months, construction works for wave wall at Sai Wan, Cheung Chau will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (E) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22° 12.079'N / 114° 01.272'E
(B) 22° 12.089'N / 114° 01.245'E
(C) 22° 12.305'N / 114° 01.340'E
(D) 22° 12.339'N / 114° 01.387'E
(E) 22° 12.317'N / 114° 01.405'E

The works will be carried out by one dumb lighter and one ro-ro barge. One work boat and one tugboat will provide assistance. Vessels engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

A working area of approximately 15 metres around the working vessels will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the working vessels.

Silt curtains which are large pieces of netting to contain mud and sediments extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will be established within the works area. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the extent of the silt curtains.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
