Plan to open to tourism in June/July

19 Mar 2021 / Bali, Indonesia

Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is planning to open tourism in Bali through the Free Covid Corridor or travel corridor in June or July 2021.

The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy and Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, said the opening of tourism must meet a number of requirements, including a controlled Covid-19 number, and an increase in the level of compliance with health protocols with 3M, as well as strengthening of 3T, and vaccinations.

The government is targeting as many as 2 million Balinese people to receive the Covid-19 vaccine in June.

Countries that will explore cooperation with Bali for the implementation of this travel corridor are prioritised for having a travel corridor agreement concept with a high vaccination rate, implementing a strong 3 T, having a reciprocal relationship with Bali, and having a return home policy in accordance with the need for health factors in Bali.

The opening of tourism on the Island will start in three green zones: Nusa Dua, Ubud and Sanur.
