For approximately 10 months, marine works involving construction of harbour steps and bioremediation treatment works will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (G) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22° 18.974’N 114° 12.065’E
(B) 22° 18.943’N 114° 12.032’E
(C) 22° 19.022’N 114° 11.944’E
(D) 22° 18.971’N 114° 11.891’E
(E) 22° 19.051’N 114° 11.801’E
(F) 22° 19.060’N 114° 11.826’E
(G) 22° 19.120’N 114° 11.902’E
The works will be carried out by three dumb lighters and one flat-top work barge. Two work boats and two tugboats will provide assistance. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements. Vessels engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
A working area of approximately 20 metres around the lighters and barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the lighters and barge.
Silt curtains, extending from the surface to the seabed, will be established within the works area. The silt curtain is a large piece of netting used to contain mud and sediments. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the extent of the silt curtains.
The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will
be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
