Demolition works at Southern Tuas Basin

The working period for demolition works at Southern Tuas Basin has been extended.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.001 of 2020, until 19 July 2020, the works are being conducted 0730-1930 hours Monday to Saturday and 0800-1800 hours on Sundays and Public Holidays at Southern Tuas Basin, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 18·368'N / 103 deg. 39·051'E
2) 01 deg. 18·341'N / 103 deg. 39·079'E
3) 01 deg. 18·160'N / 103 deg. 38·910'E
4) 01 deg. 18·190'N / 103 deg. 38·879'E

The work includes demolition of auxiliary facilities, cutting of beams and piles and dolphins. A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
