Testing of AUV off Small Craft Anchorage ‘A’

The working period for the testing of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) off Small Craft Anchorage ‘A’ has been extended.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority Port Marine Notice No.71 of 2018 dated 11 July 2018, the testing will be carried out from 0800 to 1800 hours daily (week days only) within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1. 01 deg. 18.480’N / 103 deg. 58.103’E
2. 01 deg. 18.566’N / 103 deg. 58.470’E
3. 01 deg. 18.400’N / 103 deg. 58.518’E
4. 01 deg. 18.313’N / 103 deg. 58.150’E

A work boat will deploy and recover the AUV by crane. Seabed deployment of objects in the working area will also be carried out by the work boat.

A safety boat will be in attendance at all time to warn and re-direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of the working area.

Craft involved in the work will exhibit the appropriate local and international day signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) keep well clear and not enter the working area
b) maintain a proper lookout
c) proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution
d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control):
e) communicate with East Control on VHF Channel 12 for assistance if required.
