Singapore’s Ministry of Health has on today (22 March) announced additional border control measures to reduce further importation of COVID-19 cases.

Effective 2359 hours tomorrow (23 March), all short-term visitors will not be allowed to enter or transit through Singapore.

Due to the latest border restriction, we recommend that vessel owners, operators and manning offices reconsider their crew change plans in Singapore and best to put them on hold at this point of time until the situation improves both in Singapore and globally.

Vessels are still permitted to enter Singapore port limits to carry out their intended operations such as cargo operations i.e. terminal loading, discharging, bunkering and storing of provisions/stores.

Vetting inspectors and shore technicians from Singapore are also permitted to attend vessels at Singapore anchorage for inspection, servicing or repair of equipment on board but this is subject to their own discretion.

Malaysians with Singapore work permits will continue to be able to work in Singapore during this period, with appropriate accommodation arrangements. The transport of all types of goods between Malaysia and Singapore will also be facilitated.
