Height Restricted Areas and Special Areas for Hong Kong Link Road

The Shipping and Port Control (Amendment) Regulation 2017 and the Merchant Shipping (Local Vessels) (General) (Amendment) Regulation 2017 which came into operation on 1 December establish four groups of vessel height restricted areas: the Hong Kong Link Road Areas No.1, No.2, No.3 and No.4.

Except with the permission of the Director of Marine, no vessel exceeding 41, 12, 10 and 5 metres in height above sea level shall enter or pass through the HKLR Areas No.1, No.2, No.3 and No.4 respectively.

Owners, Operators, Masters, Coxswains and Persons-in-charge of vessels must ensure that the highest point of their vessels does not exceed the specified limit when entering or passing through a vessel height restricted area.

Vessels navigating in the HKLR Special Areas No.1 and No.2 must follow the general direction of traffic flow.

Information on the restricted areas and special areas of the HKLR is also available at the Marine Department website http://www.mardep.gov.hk/en/publication/pdf/hps_nr_clkl.pdf
