Work suspension due to tsunami warning

Work at Philippines Port Authority (PPA) offices has been suspended today (June 8, 2026) within the area affected by a tsunami warning following a magnitude 7.0 earthquake.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology’s warning advises residents in coastal areas of the provinces of Sarangani, Davao Occidental, Tawi-Tawi, Sulu, Basilan, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Sultan Kudarat and South Cotabato to evacuate to higher ground or further inland.

Local Government Units have also declared localized work suspensions.

Port Managers have been advised too determine the necessity of maintaining a skeleton workforce for critical/essential operations, subject to prevailing conditions and advisories issued by the authorities.
