Work at oil tanking storage terminal

The working period has been extended for construction, jetty upgrading and dredging works at the oil tanking storage terminal off East Jurong Channel.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.58 of 2017, the work is now being carried 24 hours daily - including Sundays and Public Holidays - from today (10 April) until 31 May, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 17.318'N / 103 deg. 43.516'E
2) 01 deg. 17.388'N / 103 deg. 43.556'E
3) 01 deg. 17.482'N / 103 deg. 43.391'E
4) 01 deg. 17.567'N / 103 deg. 43.438'E
5) 01 deg. 17.348'N / 103 deg. 43.823'E
6) 01 deg. 17.237'N / 103 deg. 43.708'E
7) 01 deg. 17.313'N / 103 deg. 43.576'E
8) 01 deg. 17.259'N / 103 deg. 43.546'E

Crane barge will be used to carry out upgrading, construction of concrete and installation of jetty structural elements. The crane barge will be assisted by tugs. The dredging work will be carried out by grab dredger, held in position by anchors. The dredged materials will be transported to designated dumping ground by hopper barges. Safety boats will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft about the work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 25 (Pasir Panjang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Pasir Panjang Control on VHF Channel 25 for assistance, if required.
