Warning signal hoisted at ports

23 May 2025 / West coast, India

Warning signal LC-III hoisted at ports on India’s west coast, from Dahanu to Mormugao, due to the low-pressure system in the eastern central Arabian Sea being categorised ‘well marked’, a step away from a depression.

Due to severe weather conditions persisting, port authorities at Mormugao have advised that vessel movements in port will remain suspended. Vessels which shifted Off Port Limits are expected to be shifted back to port limits when normal weather conditions resume.

The Indian Meteorological Department in Goa has issued an orange alert for the next two days, with forecasts of heavy to very heavy rainfall and wind speeds around 50-60 km per hour.

Ports operations at Mangalore and JNPT/Mumbai continue as normal.
