Vessel movements suspended due to Tropical Depression

The Philippines Coast Guard has today (23 July) issued Sea Travel Advisory No.07-04 related to Tropical Depression Dante. All movement of vessels destined or transiting the affected areas is suspended, except to take shelter.

At the time of the issue of the advisory, the weather system is estimated to be at 20.0 deg.N / 130.6 deg. East with sustained winds of 55km/h near the centre and gusts up to 70km/h, moving northwestwards at 25km/h.

The Low Pressure Erea was estimated to be over the coastal waters of Calayaan Island, Calayan, Cagayan (19.4 deg. N, 121.5 deg. E). The area will continue to experience the effects including moderate to heavy, sometimes intense, rains. The western section of Luzon is experiencing moderate to strong wind intensity with moderate to rough sea conditions of 2.5 to 3.1 metres.

This weather pattern will affect a number of areas including Metro Manila, Benguet, Pangasinan, Taria, Pampanga, Bulacan, Zamblaes, Ecija, Quezon, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras and Negros Occidental.

Vessel movements will resume when conditions are declared as normal.
