Updated preparedness for COVID-19 transmission

Shipping agent shall advise pre-arrival of vessel having a crew change or new sign on vessel crew within 14 days from the date of arrival at Kuantan Port to the Medical Officer of Kuantan Port at least 48 hours before arrival to Kuantan Port.

The vessel will undergo a quarantine process of 14 days including days of voyage from the previous port (port of crew change / sign on) at the anchorage before allowed to start any operations.

The Kuantan Port Auxiliary Police shall ensure there is no ship crews sign-in, sign- off or shore leave passing through Kuantan Port entrance except with the authorization by Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), Marine Department Malaysia and any related agencies.

The ship crews of the vessel are not allowed to disembark from the vessel without permission from the KKM and authorities when the vessel is at berth. Application for this purpose shall be submitted to the KKM, Marine Department Malaysia and authorities during the predefined time.

All parties involved with port activities are encouraged to follow the health care measures recommended by the KKM.

This circular is effective on 24 November 2020 and shall be read in accordance with the latest Merchant Shipping Notice, and any latest instructions by Government of Malaysia.
