Updated crew change protocol

The following changes have been made to Sri Lanka’s Standard Operating Procedures for crew changes with regards to precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19:

  • Health Declaration Form is no longer required.
  • Fully vaccinated crew are not required to take pre-boarding and on arrival (day 1) PCR tests.
  • Day 1 PCR is NOT required for NOT fully vaccinated seafarers arriving via Airport (on-signers) with a negative PCR/ RAT.
  • Regardless of the vaccination status seafarers/sea marshals (both on-signers & off-signers) no longer need to go through the mandatory Isolation Center, but can be accommodated at a safe and secure hotel.
  • Vehicles to transport seafarers/sea marshals should be arranged by the agent.
  • For shore passes:
    - Health clearance will be issued to obtain shore passes for fully vaccinated seafarers
    - For NOT fully vaccinated seafarers, health clearance will be issued upon submitting a negative PCR done within 72 hours or RAT done within 48 hrs to obtain shore passes.
