Unloading of precast units off Wan Chai

For approximately 9 days, unloading of precast units from a semi-submersible barge will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D):
(A) 22 deg. 17.456'N / 114 deg. 10.765'E
(B) 22 deg. 17.308'N / 114 deg. 10.810'E
(C) 22 deg. 17.208'N / 114 deg. 10.596'E
(D) 22 deg. 17.343'N / 114 deg. 10.523'E

The unloading operation will be carried out from a flotilla of vessels including one semi-submersible barge, two crane barges, some tug boats and guard boats. The number of vessels engaged in the operation will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 50 metres around each barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barges.

The hours of works will be round-the-clock.

The precast units unloaded from the semi-submersible barge at the working area will be towed to the west of the New Wan Chai Ferry Pier for seawall construction.

Diving operations will be carried out during the hours of works.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the area.
