An underwater sonar experiment will be carried our off east of St John’s Island from 12 to 14 October, inclusive.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Notice No.110 of 2016, the experiment will be conducted between the hours of 0900 and 1700 local time daily, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 13.033'N / 103 deg. 51.088'E
2) 01 deg. 13.077'N / 103 deg. 51.187'E
3) 01 deg. 12.920'N / 103 deg. 51.256'E
4) 01 deg. 12.848'N / 103 deg. 51.113'E
The experiment includes the deployment of a transmitter system by work boat. Divers will be on standby during the deployment and recovery of transmitter system.
Craft involved in the experiment will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and to navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control);
and
e) Communicate with East Control on VHF Channel 12 for
assistance, if required.
