Underwater inspection off Tanah Merah and Changi East

The working period for underwater inspection work off Tana Merah and Changi East has been revised. The works are being conducted from 1 June to 31 July.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.65 of 2016 dated 1 June, the works are being carried out between 0700 and 1900 hours daily - including Sundays & Public Holiday - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

3) 01 deg. 18.303'N / 103 deg. 58.422'E
4) 01 deg. 18.298'N / 103 deg. 57.678'E

5) 01 deg. 18.622'N / 104 deg. 00.392'E
6) 01 deg. 18.337'N / 104 deg. 00.712'E
7) 01 deg. 18.448'N / 104 deg. 00.916'E
8) 01 deg. 18.744'N / 104 deg. 00.591'E

Working Area C
9) 01 deg. 18.034'N / 104 deg. 01.647'E
10) 01 deg. 17.367'N / 104 deg. 02.774'E
11) 01 deg. 17.104'N / 104 deg. 02.609'E
12) 01 deg. 17.760'N / 104 deg. 01.504'E

The underwater inspection will be carried out by a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) tethered to the survey boat. The ROV will be launched and recovered by the survey boat.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control);
and
e) Communicate with East Control on VHF Channel 12 for assistance, if required.
