31 Jul 2015 / Hong Kong, all ports
According to the latest Tropical Cyclone Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory, Strong Wind Signal No.3 is in force. This means that winds with mean speeds of 41-62 km per hour are expected. At noon, Typhoon Kalmaegi was estimated to be about 460 km west-southwest of Hong Kong (near 20.1 deg. North / 110.4 deg. East) and is forecast to move west-northwest at about 30 km per hour towards Beibu Wan. Kalmaegi has made landfall over Wenchang, Hainan Island, and will continue to move further away from Hong Kong. Its associated squally showers will still affect Hong Kong intermittently. Although Kalmaegi is moving away, occasional gales will still affect the southwestern part and high ground of Hong Kong at first. Members of the public should remain on the alert.
