Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung-Wong)

Following the improvement in weather conditions after Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung-Wong) and the completion of a thorough safety assessment, Manila Multipurpose Terminal resumed cargo delivery and truck booking operations last night (10 November).

Vessel movements shall resume upon confirmation from the Manila Pilots.

Calaca Industrial Seaport has advised that port operations may resume at 17:00 hours local time today (11 November. Vessel Masters are advised to exercise extreme caution during approach, berthing, and
throughout port stay. Docking operations must be suspended immediately in the event of sudden wave surges, strong wind gusts, poor visibility and any other maritime hazards. If conditions deteriorate, vessels currently docked may be instructed by the port authority to vacate the berth to minimise risks to life, vessel, cargo, and port infrastructure. Al port-related activities shall be carried out at the discretion of the port authority, in coordination with the Vessel Master and Harbor Pilot, based on real-time weather, sea and safety conditions.

Due to the ongoing impact of Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung-Wong), the gates at Manila Multipurpose Terminal remain closed today (10 November).

Seafront Shipyard and Port Terminal Services Corp in Bataan ordered the temporary pullout of vessels from Saturday, 8 November.

The Philippine Coast Guard at Batangas, which oversees one of the country’s busiest ports, suspended vessel voyages until weather improves.

The Coast Guard HQ at Manila suspended all movements – except to take shelter – of all vessels with point of destination in the following affected areas: southeastern portion of Quezon, eastern portion of Romblon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Caranduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, northern and central portions of Cebu, Bantayan and Comotes Isdlands, northeastern portion of Bohol, northern portion of Negros Occidental, northern portion of Capiz, and northern portion of Lioilo.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 1 was hoisted for the Province and City of Cebu on 7 November and the Coast Guard Station announced the suspension of all vessel movements enroute to the affected areas, except to take shelter.

***7 November 29, 2025***

Calaca Industrial Seaport Corp. terminals will suspend docking operations at 12:00 hours local time tomorrow (8 November) due to Super Typhoon Uwan (Fung Wong), which is expected to make landfall on Sunday 9 November. Vessel pullout will follow on or before 06:00 hours on Sunday.

Manila Multipurpose Terminal (MMT) has put heightened precautionary measures in place and will implement the following operational schedule will be implemented on 9 November:
- Vessel pullout: on or before 04:00 hours local time
- Gate closure: 12:00 hours local time
- Yard knock-off: 17:00 hours local time (last truck served 16:00 hours)
- No delivery operation-night shift

Weather updates are being closely monitored and advisories will be issued in case of any changes. Resumption of normal operations will be announced once weather conditions have improved and it is considered safe to do so.

The typhoon is expected to have the strongest impact in the Luzon region, but the rest of the country may also be affected by heavy rains and strong winds, given its size.
