Traffic suspension for international yacht race

The Bosphorus will be closed to international vessel traffic during the TAYK–AKPA Turkish Naval Forces Cup International Yacht Race – 55th Edition, to be held between 10:00 and 15:00 hours local time on July 11, 2026.

The race course will extend from Tokmak Burnu (İstinye/Sarıyer), Istanbul Strait, to Bozcaada.

All voyage plans and transit schedules should be arranged in consideration of this temporary traffic suspension. Masters should:

  • take note of the yacht race;
  • exercise extreme caution when navigating in the vicinity of the race area;
  • ensure the safety of navigation, life, property and the marine environment;
    and
  • comply with the instructions and directions issued by the relevant Turkish maritime authorities.
