Traffic suspended, then reinstated, after collision

Vessel traffic in the Bosphorus was suspended between 05:30 and 08:00 hours local time this morning (25 September) due to a collision between two general cargo vessels.

The incident happened near Yenikoy point in the Bosphorus at 05:10 hours local time. Tug boats sent to the site by VTS Istanbul reported no damage to either vessel.

The vessels were instructed to drop their anchor to the Buyukdere anchorages area to wait for legal inspection by the harbour master.
