Terminal status downgraded

12 May 2025 / Bahamas

The status of Buckeye Bahamas Hub Terminal was downgraded to Restricted at 09:00 hours local time yesterday (11 May).

Today’s marine forecast highlights the risk of strong thunderstorms and possible waterspouts due to a frontal system moving from the eastern Gulf of Mexico across Florida and into the western Bahamas.

Brisk southeasterly winds, shifting southerly by Tuesday, are expected to weaken, while low-level moisture increases, enhancing storm activity. Rain showers and thunderstorms, potentially heavy, are forecast, with gusts exceeding 25–30 knots. Minor coastal flooding along the north shore may occur during early high tide. Seas in exposed areas could reach up to 5 feet, and small craft operators are advised to remain near safe harbor. No tropical cyclone activity is expected over the next 7 days.
