Suspension of marine operations

02 May 2024 / Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates

Due to adverse weather and/or sea conditions, marine operations have been suspended [from 08.30 hours local time today, 2 May] at either RAK Maritime City and/or Stevin Rock Harbour and/or Saqr Port. This may affect some or all of these locations and apply to either arrival or departure.

Marine Department will continually assess conditions and re-establish normal operations at the earliest possible timing.

Weather parameters that influence and result in suspension of port marine operations across RAK Ports during adverse weather conditions generally are wind strength and direction, wave height/swell and visibility. These factors establish and apply according to each port location and considering their specific characteristics and the vessels calling at the particular location.

A Suspension Notification will be followed by a Resumption Notification when all restrictions have been removed. Please note operations may be gradually restarted at individual locations as the conditions improve.

RAK Ports accepts no responsibility for any financial or operational losses due to the suspension of the marine operations.
