31 Jul 2015 / Colombia, Buenaventura
Due to electricity problems caused by the destruction of a power tower, operations at Buenaventura port have been delayed. According to latest news, the army and the electricity service company have not yet entered the affected area, and have not started fixing the power tower. The above situation is affecting all terminal operations with gantry cranes, shore suctions, shore loaders, etc unable to fully operate. According to information of port administrator, terminal is working just 30% of its capacity. The terminal's berthing schedule for the next days may be affected and reconsidered. The terminal uses two shore gantry cranes and two shore cranes to attend all container vessels arriving in the coming days.
