Submarine outfall repair works off Hung Hom

For approximately 2 weeks, submarine outfall inspection and repair works will be carried out in the following areas:

AREA 1
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D):
(A) 22 deg. 18.761’N / 114 deg. 11.600’E
(B) 22 deg. 18.747’N / 114 deg. 11.625’E
(C) 22 deg. 18.701’N / 114 deg. 11.596’E
(D) 22 deg. 18.714’N / 114 deg. 11.571’E

AREA 2
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (E) to (H):
(E) 22 deg. 18.483’N / 114 deg. 11.808’E
(F) 22 deg. 18.460’N / 114 deg. 11.824’E
(G) 22 deg. 18.431’N / 114 deg. 11.775’E
(H) 22 deg. 18.454’N / 114 deg. 11.759’E

AREA 3
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (I) to (L):
(I) 22 deg. 18.217’N / 114 deg. 11.998’E
(J) 22 deg. 18.192’N / 114 deg. 12.008’E
(K) 22 deg. 18.173’N / 114 deg. 11.954’E
(L) 22 deg. 18.198’N / 114 deg. 11.944’E

AREA 4
This area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (M) to (P);
(M) 22 deg. 17.974’N / 114 deg. 12.045’E
(N) 22 deg. 17.947’N / 114 deg. 12.050’E
(O) 22 deg. 17.938’N / 114 deg. 11.993’E

(P) 22 deg. 17.964’N / 114 deg. 11.988’E

The works will be carried out by one derrick lighter. One tugboat and one work boat will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 50 metres around the lighter will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the lighter.

The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1700 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will not stay in the works areas outside the hours of work.

Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear of the works areas at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the works areas.
