Soil investigation work off Woodlands Waterfront Park

Soil investigation work is underway until 5 September off Woodlands Waterfront Park.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.024 of 2018, the work is being conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays and Public Holidays – at the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

The soil investigation works will be carried out by jack-up barges. Tug boats will be used to shift the jack-up barges. The safety zone is a circular area of 30m radius centered at the jack-up barges. A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft about the work.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if required.
