The Indian Ministry of Shipping’s Director General of Shipping (DGS) has advised that no restrictions related to the use of single-use plastic on board vessels transiting Indian waters will apply until the Addendum to DGS order 05 of 2019 is issued.
It is understood that this Addendum is currently under preparation. However, until it is issued, no restrictions banning single-use plastics will apply to any vessel.
GAC India will continue to monitor the situation and will advise of any updates when available.
