Shipping lane closure for bridge works

The Sotraleden shipping lane near Bergen will be closed and no vessels will be able to transit during the day for up to three days between 3 & 11 February, due to cable installation works for the Sotra bridge.

This is the first full closure to be scheduled for this project. The current target start date is 6 February, but this may change depending on weather conditions.

The closure will be on from the morning (07:00/08:00 hours local time) to late afternoon (16:00/17:00) as daylight is essential for the bridge works.

It will only be possible to confirm the feasibility of the operation three days prior to closure.

During the closure period, vessels will need to arrive Bergen from the north. If coming from the south, the must sail the outer route and into Bergen from the north.
