Seaman visas for crew sign-off

GAC Qatar is now permitted to process seaman visas for crew sign-off arrangements at the port of Ras Laffan.

The requirements for seaman visa for sign-off are:

  • Clear copies of Seaman’s Book, passport copies (minimum 6 months validity)
  • Mobile Sim card (Local) to be arranged to install Ehteraz App on smart phones from App Store / play store and to be activated by adding seaman visa details which shows the health status after swab test and are mandatory for travel purpose. Health status to be green colour code. Original passport required to purchase Sim card.
  • Swab test are mandatory to arranged at Ras Laffan port clinic with advance notice (minimum 3 days) which takes min 24 -48 hours to receive the results. (Friday & Saturday are Holidays for clinic)
  • Departure Flight ticket to be issued for next day of swab test results (2nd day of swab test) as the test results are valid for 72 hours only.
  • Crew to stay at Shaqab camp or Seaman club as a temporary accommodation for isolation till the swab test results arrives. There is no requirement of 7 days quarantine for off signers.
  • Passport & seaman book & visa & Blue back ground JPEG photo & flight ticket required for seaman transit pass.
  • Upon issue of swab test results with green status & valid seaman transit pass would suffice to arrange transportation to airport for smooth repatriation.

The seaman’s visa which takes 2-3 working days to release.

Multi entry visas are applicable for sign-on only

Crew that arrive by vessel may sign-off after obtaining seaman visa. Seaman visas are mandatory to sign-off at Ras Laffan port for all crew.

The sign-off should be planned considering weekend & holidays as the swab test results will not be received on Fridays. Swab test results are valid for 72 hours.
