2015 Revetment work at Smoke Bend, MM 177.7 AHOP, is presently scheduled from 0600 to 1800 hours daily from November 20, 2015 to November 27, 2015.
The updated transit recommendations as proposed to promote safe vessel transits during mat laying operations at Smoke Bend are as follows:
1) All vessel traffic will be coordinated with the assistance of the VTS LMR and the Contact Pilot on the Matt Sinking Unit (MSU).
2) Southbound deep-draft vessel (ship) traffic will be limited to nighttime movements (1800 to 0600 hours) only commencing Friday, November 20 to Friday, November 27.
3) One-way vessel movements will be managed for northbound deep-draft traffic and for shallow-draft traffic in either direction from 0600 hours to 1800 hours.
