Resumption of ship inspection for issuance of Ship Sanitation Certificate

22 Jul 2022 / Singapore

From 1 August, Singapore’s National Environment Agency, Port Health Section will resume ship inspection services for the issuance of Ship Sanitation Certificate (SSC) in phases.

The first phase is applicable to ships docked alongside shore, i.e. at p[ort terminals and shipyards. Inspection of ships at anchorage will not resume at this time, but will remain under review for reinstatement in phase 2.

Ship inspection will be conducted every weekday between 9am and 5pm, excluding holidays and weekends. It remains the responsibility of the ship’s master or agent to ensure their ship is docked alongside shore and accessible for an inspection during these hours prior to making any applications.

NEA Port Health will be robust in addressing any non-compliances (e.g. application made for ship anchored at anchorage) identified in applications received.
