31 Jul 2015 / Australia, Port Kembla
Due poor weather conditions, Port Kembla was closed from 0715 hours (local time), Monday 18th August. The weather improved overnight; hence, the Port Authority of New South Wales has reopened the port this morning Wednesday 20th August to shipping, but the anchorage presently remains closed. There has been shipping movements with ro-ro vessels but due to swell / tidal sailing, the coal vessel alongside will wait for better conditions to sail before the next coal inbound vessel obtains pilot slot. There is presently one vessel alongside and four at anchorage with the next vessel due 21st.
