Removal of bulkhead for seawater intake box culvert

For approximately one month from June 9, 2026, work to remove the bulkhead for seawater intake box culvert will be carried out at the former Kai Tak Airport runway between 07:00 and 19:00 hours daily, except Sundays and public holidays.

The works will be carried out by one dumb lighter with a tugboat providing assistance. Both vessels will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations, and will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

A working area of approximately 50 metres around the lighter will be established with yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights to mark the positions of its anchors extending from the lighter.

Silt curtains will be established within the works area with yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights laid to mark their extent.

Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work. Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear of the works area at slow speed, bearing in mind that there are diving operations in the area.
