Relocation of temporary navigation channels for link road construction

For approximately one month, the northeast-bound temporary navigation channel across the works area of the Hong Kong Link Road is shifted eastwards for about 100 metres to facilitate the bridge pier column construction works.

The lateral light buoys and fixed red lights marking this channel are relocated to the following positions (WGS 84 Datum):

LATERAL LIGHT BUOYS:
LR1) 22 deg. 16.323'N / 113 deg. 51.805'E
LR2) 22 deg. 16.352'N / 113 deg. 51.723'E
LR3) 22 deg. 16.425'N / 113 deg. 51.846'E
LR4) 22 deg. 16.453'N / 113 deg. 51.764'E

FIXED RED LIGHTS:
FR1) 22 deg. 16.511'N / 113 deg. 51.882'E
FR2) 22 deg. 16.539'N / 113 deg. 51.798'E

The southwest-bound navigation channel will remain unchanged. Guard boats will be stationed at the approaches to the navigation channels to give necessary guidance to the vessels approaching the navigation channels.

Upon the completion of the above-mentioned pier column construction works, the northeast-bound temporary navigation channel and its associated marking buoys and lights will be shifted back to their original locations as specified in Marine Department Notice No. 123 of 2014.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and follow the guidance given by the guard boats on scene.
