Quarantine in force

As of 00:00 hours today (30 March), six cities in Kazakhstan are under quarantine to prevent the spread of coronavirus: Atyrau, Karaganda, Temirtau, Shakhtinsk, Saran and Abay.

Residents are restricted from leaving their homes, except for food, medicine, banking and going to work. Places of mass congestion, state and private kindergartens and other organizations have been closed in these cities. Restaurants and cafes are only allowed to work on delivery.

A special regime has also been introduced in Aktau, main city of Mangystau region with ports on the Caspian Sea shore, with limits on movement/leaving homes and being in public places limited from 19.00 to 08.00 hours daily.

Additional measures have been introduced in Nur-Sultan and Almaty, which had been previously quarantined. Until 5 April, the activities of various enterprises and organisations are suspended.
