Public sector strike impact on ports

09 Jul 2025 / India

Despite over 250 million Indian public sector workers taking part in a nationwide strike today (9 July), cargo operations and vessel movements at the country’s ports remain largely unaffected and continued as normal.

Certain locations like Kolkata and Tuticorin experienced some disruption, as a section of the workforce participated in the strike and protests.

Privately operated ports are not affected by the strike.
