Prohibition of use of single use plastics on board ships

As part of the multiple proactive measures which has been undertaken by the Government of India under the National Action Plan to promote Green Shipping, one of the initiatives being undertaken by the port is to curb marine pollution by implementing a ban on the usage of single use plastics by all ships calling JN port…

All ships are requested to be guided to submit the declaration of compliance in the General Declaration before arrival at JNPT.

Waste reception facilities shall continue to be provided in JNPT through Swachh Sagar Portal including for disposal of single use plastic items. However, the single use plastics should be kept segregated and marked for disposal.
