Mumbai Port Trust has advised that post-monsoon, vessels with a draft of 11.5 metres will be permitted at the inner anchorage berth without a Letter of Indemnity.
In normal circumstances, subject to tide, vessels of up to 12 metres will be permitted to the inner anchorage directly. However, in case of spring tide, the vessel will have to lighten up to 11.5 metres at PLA or wait for suitable tide to anchor at the inner anchorage to carry out stream discharge.
The Master of the vessel will:
1. Maintain strict anchor water
2. Maintain continuous watch on VHF Ch 12
3. Not allow more than two barges alongside the vessel
Agent of the vessel has to provide Letter of Indemnity in the prescribed format on a stamp paper of Rs 200/- for a vessel with a draft of more than 11.5 metres.
