31 Jul 2015 / Argentina, all ports
Public employees in Argentina, including SENASA Sanitary Authority employees, have advised that subject to weekend negotiations with government officials, they will today (6 July) start a ten-day strike if their demands for salary increases and more are not met. This could affect inward clearance, vessel hold inspection and terminal loading operations, as all require the intervention of SENASA employees. Land personnel involved in mooring/unmooring operations which have been subject to weekend negotiation with private company owners have also advised that they may go on strike for a ten day period from today. This strike would affect vessel mooring/unmooring operations.
