Port Volume Surcharge

Tug service provider Svitzer Australia has advised that there is no change in the current Volume Based Surcharge (VBS) at Port Kembla which was introduced to cater for volume fluctuation on 1 May 2014.

The VBS is based on a requirement for 4,472 tug jobs per annum (2012 volumes). As the tug job volume for the 12 months ended 30 April 2017 was 3,797, there is no change to the current surcharge of 2.7%.

The next review period will be for the 12 months ending 31 October 2017, with the new VBS to be introduced 31 December 2017.
