01 Sep 2016 / Mobile, USA
As Tropical Depression Nine continues to develop and is expected to become a tropical storm, Port Status YANKEE has been set for the Mobile Captain of the Port (COTP) Area of Responsibility (AOR).
The system appears to be moving north/northeast and is expected to remain at tropical storm strength as it approaches landfall. Current models suggest that Tropical Depression Nine could make landfall or impact the Mobile AOR.
At this time all waterways in the Mobile AOR are open to all traffic. It is expected that Tropical Depression Nine could affect all waterways from mile marker 222 to mile marker 375 (Ft Walton Beach, FL to Carrabelle, FL) of the Gulf Intercoastal Waterway and the Port of Panama City.
