Port operations suspended

The ports of Algeciras in Spain and Gibraltar are closed and all operations suspended, due to adverse weather.

The General Management of the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras cancelled all operations in the following areas and facilities from 04:00 hours local time today (13 February):
- Anchorages A, B, C and D
- Container terminals
- Acerinox
- Refinery
-Cernaval
- Evos
- North Breakwater
- Detached Breakwater
- North Quay
- Menoco
- Príncipe Felipe
- Isla Verde Interior

Vessels anchored in anchorages A, B, C and D or berthed at the refinery were ordered to vacate these areas. Those remaining alongside were instructed to reinforce moorings and keep their main engine in operational condition.

These measures will remain in force until a situation is assessed again to lift or impose further restrictions.
