Port Hedland cyclone update - port operations continue as planned

The BoM has provided an update in relation to tropical system 08U which is now located approximately 120 NM South of Broome. The system has recently moved in a South Westerly direction at 12 knots.

There is good consensus amongst the BoM models that the low will remain over land and parallel to the West Kimberley coast today. The low is then expected to track further inland and away from the Port of Port Hedland through the weekend.

The Port is not expected to be impacted by strong to gale force winds resulting from this system.

There will be no further advice issued for this system.
