Port closed to shipping

Due to forecast strong winds and swell, Port Kembla was closed to all shipping movements by the Port Authority at 16.15 hours local time today (28 November) due to forecast strong winds and swell.

This follows the closure of the anchorage to shipping overnight, with all ships ordered to return to sea and remain a minimum of 12 nautical miles offshore.

The Harbour Master will reassess the situation at 08.00 hours local time tomorrow (29 November).
