Pilots recommend discontinuing use of General Anchorage

The President of Crescent River Port Pilots’ Association has advised that due to multiple ships dragging and snagging other anchors on the bottom, pilots are having to re-anchor almost every ship anchored in the General Anchorage.

The Crescent River Pilot’s Safe Navigation Committee recommends immediately discontinuing use of General Anchorage except for emergencies, until the Carrollton Gauge falls to 15ft.
