Pilotage service restricted to daytime

Pilots at Belgian ports are only providing service during the daytime (09:00-17:00 hours local time) as part of their ongoing industrial action.

No progress has been made in negotiations to end the on-going industrial dispute.

At the time of writing, 80 vessels were waiting, as follows:
- Antwerp: 12 vessels are waiting to leave the port
- Zeebrugge: 2 vessels are waiting to leave the port
- Ghent: 3 vessels are waiting to leave the port
- 63 vessels are waiting in the North Sea (53 bound for Antwerp and 10 bound for Ghent).

Meanwhile, a general strike by all Belgian unions has been announced for Tuesday 14 October, which is expected to cause some disruption at the country’s ports. There is a possibility that no vessel movements will be possible from Monday evening around 19:00 until Wednesday morning at 08:00.
